Technology Skills

As a manager of content, processes, and people, I have built complex web sites since 1994. My technology skills include:

  • C-Level leadership in the creation, coordination, and rollout of complex technology products and services.
  • Coordination with technology teams to create and manage the implementation of complex e-commerce tracking systems, including WebTrends, Google Analytics, Omniture, CRM systems, and home-grown solutions.
  • Advanced experience in Internet publishing languages and technologies, including HTML, dHTML, XML, and CSS, as well as advanced experience in content management systems such as Joomla.
  • Advanced knowledge of numerous authoring, visual design, project management, and flowcharting programs, as well as other tools required of an Internet marketing and production professional.
  • Directing teams of technologists toward the solution of business challenges.
  • Serving as an ad hoc Chief Technology Officer in the rebuilding of web sites.
  • Ability to translate technology discussions into plain-English statements of business impact.
  • Creation of digital media products for numerous environments, including television and handheld devices years before the advent of smartphones and digital TV.
  • Strong understanding of Web usability issues gained from working with usability guru Donald Norman.
  • Thorough understanding of site customization and personalization technologies and their impact on e-commerce.
